The Black and White Ball: a charity gala swing dance

Tom and Debra, the Deans of DC Swing DanceJoin ADSW, gottaswing.com, and the Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase at the Black and White Ball, an elegant charity gala. Net proceeds will benefit local charities supported by the Junior Woman's Club, with this year's special fund raising to support tsunami relief programs through Save the Children.

To get things rolling, Tom and Debra, the "Deans of DC Swing Dance", will teach an introductory lesson from 8:30 to 9:00 PM.  Tom and Debra teach over 4,000 people a year and have won numerous state, national and international dance championships.  The SingCo Rhythm Orchestra will play from 9:00 to midnight.

The Black and White Ball will be held at the 1930s era clubhouse of the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase near the intersection of East-West Highway and Connecticut Avenue. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.  Black and white formal or vintage attire is suggested.

The Chevy Chase Community Achievement Award is presented annually for meritorious service to the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Kensington area by the Junior Woman's Club.  The 2005 recipient will be Congressman Chris Van Hollen who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since November 2002. (ADSW is not involved with this aspect of the evening.)
