Washington's Wonderful Art Deco Architecture

Postponed Until Fall

4th Annual Bus Tour at Silver TheatreThe tour will be led by Linda Lyons, architectural historian and Education Chair of ADSW, who wrote ADSW's brochure Metro Deco: A Guide to Metro Accessible Art Deco Landmarks of the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Over 100 Art Deco structures, including government and commercial buildings, apartment houses, residences, and bridges, will be seen and discussed in the Washington, DC area. Selected examples to be visited and toured include Historic Terminal A of National Airport, 1100 New York Avenue (preserving the Greyhound Bus Terminal), the AFI Silver Theatre, and the Greenbelt Community Center (formerly Greenbelt Center School). A building list will be provided, along with suggestions for further reading and exploring.
