A variety of musicians, singers, and novelty acts were featured in a series of Vitaphone Ramblin' Round Radio Row shorts. We will view five shorts from the series featuring sturs like:

  • Baby Rose Marie
  • The Lombardo Brothers
  • Tess Gardell (aka Aunt Jemima)
  • The Boswell Sisters
  • Paul Whiteman's Rhythm Boys
  • Frances Langford
  • Morton Downey
  • The Pickens Sisters
  • Arthur Tracy

You won't want to miss Washington's own Kate Smith singing and Dancing.

Completing the program will be an encore presentation of vintage shorts by Ina Ray Hutton and Her Melodears.

Vitaphone Restoration Film Series

ADSW's bimonthly film series is a fundraising effort to support the restoration of vintage Vitaphone shorts by the Vitaphone Project. Each $4,500 raised will fund the professional restoration of a short at UCLA's Film and Television Archives. Although admission to the films will be free, attendees are asked to make a contribution to our Vitaphone restoration fund.

ADSW will select from a list of shorts awaiting restoration, and will receive a copy of each short restored. The series will offer a combination of feature films and musical shorts.

Screenings will be held the second Tuesday of every other month:
