Friday, January 4, 2008 The Potters House Suggested Donation: $15.00
Actress Anna Hayes will be presenting an abridged version of Matthew Lombardo's Tea At Five, a one-woman play on the life of screen and stage legend Katharine Hepburn. Tea at Five is an intimate look at Katharine Hepburn at home in her Fenwick estate in Connecticut. Matthew Lombardo's script masterfully reveals the essence of Hepburn's wit, intellect, and personality. Anna Hayes's rendition of the voice, facial expressions, mannerisms, and walk of Katharine Hepburn is uncanny. Ms. Hayes studied acting at the H. B. Studio in New York City, and has played numerous lead and supporting roles including Celia in As You Like It, Laura in I'll Be Back Before Midnight, and Ruth in Blithe Spirit. After the show, the floor will be open for dancing to the music of The Bobcats Jazz Quartet. The Bobcats will be playing standards from the Art Deco era. The group features Barbara Fakoury, former ADSW Fashion Show Chair, on vocals and piano. The Potter's House is a coffeehouse and artistic venue where patrons may affordably dine as they enjoy the show. The show begins at 7:30 pm and the suggested donation is $15.00, a portion of which will benefit the Art Deco Society of Washington. Metro: Columbia Heights (green), Woodley Park (red) or Bus #42, S1 or S2 Off-Street parking is available.
