Eisenstaedt's prominence began in the Art Deco era--in 1929, he became a professional photographer in Germany, emigrating in 1935 to the United States. In 1936, Eisenstaedt joined Life Magazine, which featured more than 90 of his puctures on its covers, and published more than 2,500 of his photo stories.

Our visit will include an introductory lecture by curator Megan Martinelli, unlimited access to the exhibit and Hillwood grounds, docent-led tours of the mansion, and optional afternoon tea.
